Why Thailand?

Saphan Bhumibol at Dusk - Bangkok

Maryna:

Thailand was the real milestone in my life. It’s the country where I felt happy, relaxed, sad and really, trully free (probably for the first time in my life). It gave me so much! I’ve made a ton of new friends, saw some of the most beautiful places on Earth and also, as weird as it sounds, met my true self.

Thailand is big and diverse. Bangkok is the city of contrasts, where skyscrapes and slums are close neighbours. There you can take a boat ride along the canals, visit beautiful Wat Arun, try famous durian fruit in China Town, shop at Chatuchak market and enjoy the most amazing sunset (and night view of the city) from the Vertigo bar on top of Banyan tree skyscraper. Bangkok is crazy, chaotic, serene and peaceful at the same time, and it can steal your hart forever.

Mountains in the Northern part of the country can offer lots of once-in-a-lifetime experiences – from trekking in jungle, zipline tours and elephant camps to visiting temples and Chiang Mai Zoo with it’s most honorary inhabitant, little panda cub. Also it hosts two huge national holidays – Songkran, Thai New Year, when the city turns into a huge water fight, and Loi Krathong, the festival of light, when thouthands of lanterns are going up into the air. Three hours and 762 curves away from Chiang Mai there’s a little cute town called Pai – a real mecca for hippies, artists and foodies, where you can explore jungle, take a shower under the waterfall, eat very nice food (I even found Ukrainian borsch there, authentical and really delicious) and participate in an open mic night.

South of Thailand with its islands is as idyllic as it gets – turquoise sea, white sand, palm treas, coconuts and wonderful food (well, food is amazing everywhere in Thailand). But apart from this classical holiday experience it offers also meditating and detox retreats, yoga schools and myai thai classes, Full Moon parties on Koh Phangan and many other things.

During our travel around Thailand I will show you all of my favorite places, that I discovered while living in this amazing, friendly and welcoming country. Trust me, it will steal your heart once and for all, just like it stole mine.
